Sunday, August 03, 2003National Day Observation Day Parade Coral Secondary School, Pasir Ris – Coral Secondary School has once again held the National Day Observation Parade (NDOP) in their school on the 2nd of August. The 3 years old school had been hosting the NDOP for all it’s 3 years. The school and the pupils have been putting up the good show and they have entertained the public. Rear Admiral Teo Chee Hean was the Guest of Honor for all the NDOP. It was an honor for the Admiral to have taken some time off to see this joyful occasion and celebrate the occasion with the Coralites. The NDOP consisted of quite a number of performances. First up was the martial art display by the takwado pupils. They had showed the public what kind of destruction they would produce if they were pissed of but they were not to use aggressive moves on the public if they had not come into any harm. They can only practice what they have learnt in takwado when they are under attack. Followed by them was the marching in of the parade contingent that consists of the National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC), both boys’ and girls’ unit was separated, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Red Cross Youth. The NPCC boys’ unit was the first followed by the NPCC girls’ unit. Behind the girls’ unit were the NCC and the Red Cross Youth. They marched towards the parade square proudly and smartly. They stood at attention to wait for the Guard Of Honor comprising the NCC part C boys. They were smart and good-looking in their Number 1 uniform. When they were ready, the commander commanded the whole parade to salute to the National Flag that was held by the NPCC boys. They were all embracing by the Secondary 3 pupils and the passed out Secondary 4 pupils. They too wore Number 1 uniform but wore a different uniform from the NCC as they are of different CCA. As the flag was being hooked up the pole, everyone, including the public as well as the parade contingent. As the Admiral walked up his place, everyone stood up and clapped their hands. They parade saluted to the Admiral with respect. After that, they sang the national anthem and said the pledge. Now, it was time for the inspection of the Guard of Honor. 2 NPCC flag barriers led the Admiral through the inspection. After the inspection, it was time for the march off. Everyone on the parade square was dismissed and the time for the giving out of prizes. Followed by that, there were line dance and the wu shu had to put up their performance. The last item was the sing-a-long led by the choir. The choir and all the parade contingent, including the NPCC, NCC, Red Cross, the Band and everyone else. Even RaDM Teo Chee Hean joins in the fun with the crowd. Of course his bodyguards were there to protect him. |
